The watchmaking tradition of car brands has begun since the 20th century. Many car manufacturers have their own watch production lines, anniversary limited edition or watches for celebrating brand’s grand event. Most car manufacturers have signed a contract with the well-known watch brands and labeled their logo on watches. However, there are some car manufacturers, such as Lamborghini, Porsche, they like producing watches in their own factories. These Designer Watches, from the initial sketch to the design of gift box, are entirely manufactured by the car company’s experts.
The purposes car manufacturers offering watch are different. But the ultimate goal is to raise brand awareness. There are cheap ordinary watches, but there also are luxury limited editions. Some watches offer gold or platinum case for customer’s selections. However, some other models can not be bought in store, because they are not for sale. For example, the Bugatti watches are presented to the Bugatti supercar owners as purchasing gifts.
The famous Swiss watch manufacturer Jaeger-LeCoultre and luxury car brand Aston Martin have worked together since the 1920s. Since then, Aston Martin car has been equipped with Jaeger-LeCoultre tachometer. Unique ANOVX series contains high-end luxury watch, and its inspiration comes from Aston Martin car’s power and aesthetic design.
In 2005, the first AMVOX series China Watch – AMVOX1 was launched. Its debut was turned out to commemorate the launch of its two annual events: Memovox de Plongee 40th anniversary and Aston Martin D85 series 40th anniversary. There are two versions of AMVOX1. The first version came in a platinum case with 150 limited edition pieces and the second version represented in a titanium case with 500 limited editions. The second-generation product of AMVOX series consists of three watches, one of which was installed a transponder. Wearers can start their car with this watch. They are all loaded with Jaeger-LeCoultre patented vertical trigger chronograph system. The wearer will be able to activate all functions only by lightly press the sapphire crystal surface. Its case is consisted by more than 400 parts. It is one of the most complicated cases. The checkerboard design of minute counter makes wearer think of the black and white checkered flag in the end of racing circuit. The 1959-2009 engraved on case back is to commemorate Aston Martin Racing team’s victory in 2009 at Le Mans in France. The ANVOX3 Tourbillon GMT watch comes in ceramic case and is equipped with a 35 jewels automatic movement. There are only 300 limited editions.
