Benefits of Xenon Lights on Your Car

If you are shopping around for lighting upgrades on your vehicle, you probably have come across several different kinds of lights. Halogen headlights are a popular style of lights, as are LEDs. Xenon lights offer another option for lighting and these might work best for your vehicle. No matter the age of the car you drive a Xenon light is going to work without the aid of adapters (which can’t be said for LEDs). So, if you want the best quality lighting with the least amount of work, Xenon Lights might just be the perfect option for your vehicle.

What is a Xenon Light

In order to understand what Xenon lights are, you need to know how it works. Xenon is an unreactive gas that is both odorless and colorless. This is a common headlight option as it produces a clean, white light (so it doesn’t look like the yellow color common with older halogen bulbs). Xenon lights are also a clean lighting style that is used in high-intensity discharge lighting, or HID for short. The light HIDs don’t have filaments, but instead are gas-charged and creates a light through an electrical charge. This way, the light is able to last longer than your standard halogen.

Why Pick the Xenon Light

So why should you pick Xenon lights over other option. First, the Xenon light offers excellent illumination and the lighting is far more effective than what you find with a standard halogen. It also uses less power than a halogen, which means it lasts longer. Now, it does cost a bit more than your standard halogen lights, but as you are obtaining a brighter, longer lasting bulb, that is to be expected. After all, you are able to see further down the road without the need of your high-beams, which makes it an excellent option.

Why Xenon Light Over LED

LED lighting seems to be all the rage right now. LED lighting is a good light, but it is not for every vehicle. In fact, you need an adapter to even use LED lighting in older vehicles. Turn signals on vehicles running non LED lights work off of the heat produced by the bulb. When the bulb becomes hot, it kills the circuit, causing the light to go off, which cools the light, causing it to blink back on. LED bulbs do not create this kind of heat, which prevents the bulb from working which is why a Xenon light is best.
